And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. ...
I Shall Not Want
By Rev. Dean Beaty 7/27/12
Psalm 23:3 “The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.” (KJV)
“The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.”
Notice it’s written in a big bold font.
Though God has promised to meet our need,
There’s no such promise to meet our greed.
The lack of contentment can cause us to sin.
It leads to the heart of a rebel within.
When we’re not content, were not satisfied.
Not satisfied with what God doth provide.
We may work hard to provide what we want.
Does it come from the feeling, “on God we can’t count”?
We’re taught in God’s Word that contentment brings gain.
But the lack of contentment can also bring pain.
Take this problem to God and you’ll find relief.
Live in God’s Word and you’ll avoid grief.
When promised to Christ then you’re His betroth.
Letting Him meet your needs does not promote sloth.
